The Mission of Galilee United Methodist Church is to build a community of deeply committed Christians. Our vision is that through this gathering of Christians, lives and our community will be transformed. We believe that the path to creating and sustaining this community is living and growing through an intentional spiritual journey that strives to grow into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. This journey can be accomplished through worshiping God, growing in our knowledge and love of Christ and His teachings, and serving in the church and community. We realize that spiritual formation is a process that God initiates, continues, and completes. It is our purpose to partner with Him in helping to move people through this formation journey. Our purpose is facilitated through environments that we believe are the best way to help people through their spiritual formation, at age appropriate levels.
Our priority is to create and maintain environments that will help people:
- Connect to God through worship and Bible teaching. (Matthew 22:36 – 38)
- Connect to others through small groups of study, prayer, care, and mission. As much as possible, these are aligned to weekend worship so that teaching is reinforced, discussed, and applied. (John 15:11-13)
- Connect to the ministry of service through volunteer opportunities that allow people to use their spiritual gifts and enjoy God through serving the church and others. (Matthew 25:35-40)
- Connect to the world through missions that strive to bring people closer to God. These missions are done locally, nationally, and globally. (Matthew 28:18-20)
