Receive the Holy Spirit

May 29, 2020 2:27 pm Published by Comments Off on Receive the Holy Spirit

With a series that begins on Pentecost Sunday, Galilee pastors will explore the blessings of the Holy Spirit. This power, this person of God, came to the disciples when Jesus Christ was glorified in their preaching and their lives. We, too, have access to the comfort of the Spirit when our lives glorify Christ.
Times are tough. Nevertheless, we are a people called to Receive the Holy Spirit:

Peace in Uncertain Times

These are difficult times, no doubt. Knowing that God promises peace, no matter what we are going through...that helps. And that's the message of Galilee's new worship series.
Philippians 4:6-7 says "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
We hope you find "Peace in Uncertain Times" each Sunday in April and May at Galilee. Livestream worship @ 9am.

The Grace of “Les Misérables”

February 29, 2020 9:45 am Published by Comments Off on The Grace of “Les Misérables”

You won’t find Les Misérables in the religion section at Barnes and Noble, but Hugo’s novel is steeped in Christian imagery and ethics.  In the struggle between the criminal Valjean and the policeman Javert, and in the stories of the people they meet—Cosette and Marius, Fantine, the revolutionaries at the barricade—we see grace at work.  It’s a beautiful story brimming with "the peace that surpasses understanding."
Explore "The Grace of Les Misérables" each Sunday during Lent at Galilee.
