Youth Group – Substance Abuse Awareness Night – October 21

October is Substance Abuse Awareness Month. At Galilee, we help our youth navigate all the challenges they face, including the temptations of drugs and alcohol. On Sunday, October 21, we’ll dedicate our time in Youth Group to this issue. Students grades 6-12 and their parents are invited to the Youth Center from 7-8:30 pm for an information session and group discussion.

Galilee Youth Group is conducting a shoe drive with Centennial Memorial UMC in Frederick, MD. At reCHARGE this summer, Galilee campers became acquainted with Pastor Deb and her ministry of helping the homeless. Your new and used mens and women’s shoes will help a soul in need. Bring them to the Youth Center today!

 


 

April 2019 Sierra Leone Mission Trip

Applications are being accepted for a mission trip to Mercy Hospital and the Child Rescue Centre in Bo, Sierra Leone. We are looking for individuals with a heart for service. Projects are determined by the gifts and talents of the applicants. Projected trip dates are April 27 – May 11, 2019. The application deadline for this team is October 21st. An interest meeting will be held on October 13th at 9:30 am at the offices of our mission partners, Helping Children Worldwide, in Chantilly or by teleconference. Christmas Play

A star, a star! Actually…lots of stars. This year’s Christmas play includes roles for everyone, from our smallest children to our tallest youth, and even adult volunteers.  The performance will be Sunday, December 9 during the Grow Hour (10:15am) in the sanctuary. Be a star on stage, singing and speaking, or get behind the scenes with set design and technical  help.

Monday Night Pickleball

Join us for the fastest growing sport in North America, Pickleball!
