Reading the Bible in May

Galilee Families:

With the youth of Galilee and also families and individuals in mind, Family Ministry leader Christian Lanzaro is initiating a New Testament reading program in May.

“The promises that God made to the Israelites are promises that have been extended to us through our adoption in His family through Jesus’ sacrifice. Upon this reflection we become aware that because life has changed, this can become a time of deeper connection with our spiritual lives and our families. I encourage you to read a part of a the New Testament each night while you and your family have dinner.”

Read your own Bible or download a Bible app and join us starting May 1st. That will be the first day of our collective participation in The Bible Project: New Testament In One Year Plan. All you have to do is click on the link and you will have the option to either save the plan to your phone with daily reminder updates or it can pair with the You Version Bible app, if you have it.

Read chapter a day starting in Matthew and continuing through Revelation (essentially reading one chapter a day, starting with the first Gospel, until you finish the New Testament).

Christian says, “I would love to hear what messages you receive from this spiritual practice. Share updates or pictures of your family reading together by sending an anecdote or image to info@galileeumc.org.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
– Romans 15:13
