Pastor Jason shares some thoughts on Next Level Weekend and what happens now.

“Friends,

I am in awe of the strength and dedication of this church. We enjoyed a successful event—Next Level Weekend—at which over 150 people were involved. That’s nearly half of Galilee’s active membership who came out on a weekend, when we asked for several hours of their time, not a few minutes. WOW.

At the Hopes and Dreams Retreat on Saturday, fifteen tables full of people talked, listened, prayed, ate, and wrote down their thoughts on Galilee. What are Galilee’s strengths and weaknesses? What would they like to see the church look like in five years? What needs changed now?

Their responses form the basis of the report that was delivered on Sunday: a solid, positive, forward-looking plan to improve all we do, so that we may best fulfill our mission to make disciples for Christ.

It was a joy to welcome the Next Level Team, my peers from the district clergy, who are helping to lift Galilee from good to great. I think everyone enjoyed hearing Tom Berlin speak. Tom has been chosen to mentor us in the NLI process, and I can’t think of a better person to do that. Tom is wise and humble and his experience is so valuable to a congregation that wants to embrace new vitality.

I am so very proud to be your pastor, Galilee. Galilee had the greatest turn out—better numbers than any other church involved in the Next Level process—and that speaks to our fundamental commitment to following where the voice of Our Lord leads us.

Thank you!”

Discussion and debate centering on the issues raised by Next Level Innovations will be open throughout the month of November. We will have three public meetings before any vote is cast:

Sunday, November 19 – Town Hall in the Sanctuary @ 10:15
Monday, November 27 – Town Hall in the Sanctuary @ 7pm
Sunday, December 3 – Church Conference in the Sanctuary @ 10:15
