What requirements do we have?
At least one parent, or sponsoring grandparent with parental permission, of the infant or child to be baptized or the youth/adult seeking baptism must attend the "Guide to Baptism" class. Classes are scheduled periodically throughout the year. Contact the church office to find out the next class. This class does not have to be repeated for later baptisms in the same family.
How do we prepare persons for baptism?
The "Guide to Baptism" class consists of a video presentation and discussion based upon Remember Who You Are by William Willimon. The class instructs in the words and actions of the actual sacrament of baptism and is designed to teach more thoroughly the nature and meaning of baptism.
- Why we baptize
- What God does in baptism
- What the church does in baptism
At the end of the class you will have an opportunity to schedule the baptism.
When do we celebrate baptisms?
We celebrate baptisms on the last Sunday of the month at both worship services, 9 and 10:30 a.m. The number of baptisms at each service are limited to three and will be scheduled on a first call basis. If you have already taken the class, call the church office to schedule the baptism.
