Coming off the first destabilizing year of Covid, we began 2021 with a  need to ground ourselves spiritually in the message of Christ. Our volunteer Grow Coordinator Deb Benigni wrote a piece about how working with clay kept her in mind of the Potter’s hands.

We love Spring and the beginning of growing season! That’s when Vini and Jane and their volunteers turn our back fields into wonderful garden to help feed the community. Their work springs from committed faith and a gratitude that requires giving back.

In June, our Youth Coordinator Lisa Collins helped Galilee’s middle school and high schoolers come to grips with the end of a very strange school year.

With the arrival of summer came the time for Vacation Bible School. Fortunately, we were able to do it right, mostly outside and with a minimum of worry about Covid spread. Ah, the good ol’ days.

Galilee showed its giving heart by agreeing to supply groceries to Afghan refugees who are settling in our area. That’s a mission that continues…the next donation date is January 9. Read the story for more information.

Loving and serving and giving are in the DNA of Galilee. We remembered that at a special community event in November that brought together hundreds of people to do dozens of projects.

And in December, we were all surprised to find the church lobby filled with toys donated by anonymous givers for needy Loudoun children. There really are angels among us.
