Galilee recently launched “After Words,” an hour long discussion period on Sunday mornings where we unpack the message of our sermons and flesh out what that message means in our daily lives.
Initially we did this because we had controversial topics to deal with in our February sermon series, “Love Your Neighbor.” We were talking about what unity in the love of Christ means when there are those who are very different from us—politically, ethnically, generationally, culturally—and we wanted to give ordinary Galileans a chance to have their say. So we sat in the sanctuary (or online) and passed the mic.
That particular sermon series concluded a few weeks ago, but we’re still doing After Words and we plan to keep it up for awhile. We want to invite you to participate in these discussions that are an invaluable part of reconnecting as a church as we move away (we pray) from the Covid era.
Discussion is, after all, a great way to do church. Proverbs 27 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” We learn from one another. We encourage one another. Whether it is in one of Galilee’s small groups or on Sunday morning after worship, talking about God and our hopes and fears with other believers strengthens our faith.

Pastor Jason says, “I hope you join us for After Words. This week we will discuss God’s mercy and what happens when religion gets it wrong. One way we sometimes get it wrong is to say that our religion or our church is the only way—not just about ultimate matters, but on less important, more arguable matters.”
“Let’s talk about it. Keep the conversation going, increase our fellowship with others, and maybe learn more about what we profess to believe.”
