What happens when we set aside the noise and simply seek God?

During Seek My Face: A Week of Prayer, Galilee invites you to make time for prayer and draw closer to God. Throughout the week, our doors will be open for anyone who wants to come, be still, pray, and seek the presence of the Lord.

• September 13–20
• Church open daily, 7am–8pm
• Come for a few minutes or stay as long as you like
• Pray quietly in the sanctuary
• Bring your joys, worries, questions, and hopes before God
• Pray for your family, our church, our community, and our world

Jesus tells us, “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). This week, we’re making room to do exactly that.

Has it been a while since you have been here? Have you moved, but would like to come visit? Are you a regular attender? Just want to see what Galilee is all about?

All are welcome to celebrate homecoming with our church community.  After the 10am worship on Sunday, Sept 20, we will gather for an old fashioned church potluck to kick off our fall season and catch up with each other. 

RSVP here and bring a dish:

• Last names starting with A-H bring a side dish (such as pasta salad, fruit tray, baked beans, mac & cheese, etc.)
• Last names starting with I-P bring a main dish (such as sandwiches, casseroles, bucket of chicken, etc.)
• Last names starting with Q-Z bring a dessert (please label if it includes nuts)

Come share a meal with Galilee friends. You are welcome to bring an additional main course item in lieu of the requests above.

Galilee United Methodist Church has launched a Community Health Days series to support the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of families in our community.

This initiative is made possible through a $5,000 grant from the Virginia United Methodist Foundation, which will help provide medical supplies, hygiene kits, equipment, volunteer support, and educational materials for the program.

Join us at a Galilee United Methodist Church town hall on church governance, immediately after worship on September 27. 

We will discuss efforts being made to simplify committee structures to increase efficiency and decrease the amount of time it takes to do the everyday business of the church. Galilee is a laity-led congregation and we want to make sure the hours that volunteers put in to service are productive, and that our stewardship is fruitful. Change might include combining or decreasing the number of working committees. Come with your opinions and questions. 11am @ Sept 27.

Go and Be Fellowship Suppers are fun! Come break bread with friends of the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm. 

No fuss, no muss, just dinner. Let’s get together to fellowship. Couples, singles, families with kids—these suppers are for everyone.

We host Fellowship Suppers every month. Each Go+Be Supper is an evening of fellowship, conversation, and good food. The dinners are free, though we do appreciate any donations. You can give on the RSVP page or at the supper.

Grab a coffee and a donut, because we’re going to church!

Join us on select Sunday mornings at 9am this fall for Donuts and Discipleship, a fresh, engaging way to dive into God’s Word before our regular 10am worship.

Led by Pastor Steven Carr, the all-age Donuts & Discipleship Activity Session will take place in the multipurpose room or gym at Galilee. Bite-Size Bible Class, a deeper dive into Scripture facilitated by Chris Smith and others, meets in the Adult Flex at the same time. You can also  enjoy Coffee with the Pastor, an informal sit down with Pastor Mike Plasters, to get acquainted and learn more about Galilee.

Our next Donuts and Discipleship is on Sunday, October 4—the first Sunday of the month—so come early for time spent in meaningful  study and intentional community.

Join us for holiday fun at Galilee’s fourth annual Christmas Market! Do your holiday shopping with friends at this craft fair and vendors market, where you’ll find a variety of unique homemade and commercial products.

The plan for this class is simple: we meet around a table and open the Bible to the chosen book or chapters, to discuss what we find in its pages. Whether you have read the Bible your whole life or are totally new to it, you have something to say and we all have something to learn
