At Galilee, we say that we are ordinary people endowed with an extraordinary purpose: to know Christ and to make Him known. The confidence we have in Christ allows us to dream boldly.
We come to know Christ through worship and prayer; through learning in small groups to grow our faith. But faith isn’t just knowing, it is transformation. Christ acts in our lives to make us new people; people who are different and committed to loving others.
We share this love when we make Christ known to others through kindness, care, and service.

I love seeing our church steeple from Route 7 when I turn off from Route 28.It would be awesome if next time we do maintenance on the steeple, we make it even more visible and attractive my investing in some bright LED lights. That way we could illuminate the steeple in different colors and patterns, sort of like they do the Empire State Building. That way, Galilee could become more of a local landmark…and people would be curious about the church.
There are a lot of members of our church who have come from other faith backgrounds (Catholic, Baptist, etc.). It may be valuable to offer a Methodism 101 class for those who would like to learn more about the faith. This could be a couple of Saturday’s classes, a series like a small group study, or a class, or a sermon series. Things like the Book of Discipline and Wesley’s concept of grace and how it is different from other faiths would be important topics to cover.
Galilee has had the benefit of an intern in the past. I know we have had a lot of change lately but I think that we could consider an intern in 2025 to support our efforts. I could envision this person teaching classes on Methodism and helping with youth activities.
I’m making this comment as a member of the LWVA Chapel.
I am very excited about our new pastors’ interest in growing our church. Pastor Steve has been spending time each week getting to know our current members. I wonder if we could get permission to invite all residents of our community to come to the “Little Chapel” to meet the Pastor.
Pastor Steve came to our building and lead a bible study about the travels and life of Peter. Our group loved him and his teaching. I thought that if we had a weekly bible study in the Clubhouse with Pastor Steven we might encourage other hwo haven’t found the joy of knowing Jesus. I understand that both of our new Pastors are working together to grow the congregation. For the Chapel, that is a very important thing. I and others would love to help in any way we can to bring more people into our congregation. We are anxious to go where you both lead us..
