Galilee’s gymnasium is called Eric’s Place in memory of our beloved friend, Eric VanNederynen.

Eric was senselessly killed in 2000 when he was walking to the grocery store in Countryside. The loss of Eric deeply impacted our community and our church. Eric was only 15 at the time of his death.

To remember Eric and to provide a safe place for community youths, Galilee decided to dedicate the gym, which was then under construction, to the memory of this active scout, church member, and beloved brother, son, and friend.

We miss you, Eric.
