What’s going on? Have a look at the church calendar.
While Galilee is physically closed, people need to visit the building. We ask all who enter to log in using a sheet at the front entrance. This is to ensure that we have information needed for contact tracing in the event of a potential COVID case.
If you are coming to the church for an in-person event, you must complete the online Health Assessment Form through the Virginia United Methodist Conference’s website.
To fill out the correct form, choose the District as “Arlington” and the Church as “Galilee UMC in Sterling”
We ask that all visitors wear masks and socially distance by six feet.
Make daily devotionals a part of your Advent preparation. Text @gumcadvent to 81010 to receive a devotional each day until Christmas.
Advent In A Box
You are invited to join Galilee Church as we celebrate the season in a new way in 2020 – through Advent in a Box.
Advent, the four weeks prior to Christmas, is a season of preparation. Christians throughout the world spend this time praying, enacting traditions, and decorating their homes to mark the approach of Christmas. Galilee’s Advent in a Box includes supplies needed to assemble an advent wreath at home, as well as activities to engage individuals and families in exploring the true meaning of Jesus Christ and Christmas. Each week, you will be invited to join in lighting your advent candles during worship from the comfort and safety of your own home.
The “Advent in a Box” includes:
- Week 1: “Hope” – Advent Calendar, Galilee watch party for “Veggietales: The Toy that Saved Christmas” or “The Nativity Story”
- Week 2: “Peace” – Baking cookies, Legend of the Candy Cane
- Week 3: “Joy” – Surprise Ride, Legend of the Christmas Tree
- Week 4: “Love” – Writing to Pen Pals, Passing the Blessing
- Christmas Eve: The Example of St. Nicholas and how to bless our community
Registration for Advent in a Box closed on November 15.
Email email@example.com for info on Youth events and visit our Youth@Galilee page here. There are Zoom links for most happenings, which Lisa will be happy to send you, and IN-PERSON events are open for registration soon.
Worship on Demand
Not Sunday? Not a problem. Galilee worships on Sundays at 9am and 10:30am (Chapel) via livestream, but we’re always available on demand at YouTube, on our app, and on our website. We have resources including Children’s Ministry available to make church “at home” a genuine and meaningful experience.
