On Wednesday this week, our choir (the Galilee Singers) shared music with Shirley and Jo Ann Seitz at the Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leesburg. It was a creative way for the choir to use their rehearsal time, practicing for Sunday while bringing joy to two longtime Galilee members and the residents of LNRC.
While Jo Ann is rehabilitating, her sister Shirley visits as often as she can. But both sisters can get lonely. They enjoyed seeing their friends in the choir and hearing “A Covenant Prayer,” “Lord, Lead Us On,” and other favorite hymns.
The Seitz sisters have been at Galilee since 2000, when they want on a trip to Israel organized by former pastor Wayne Snead. They are originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee and have lived together in Boston, New York, and Virginia. They retired as United Airlines employees some years ago.
Wednesday was also pianist Tordis Fahringer’s birthday. What a great way to celebrate a birthday, by bringing God’s love to others.
If you’d like to send a card or letter to the Jo Ann or Shirley, talk to Mickie in the office. She can let you know how the Seitz sisters are doing.
