As I sit here thinking about the last 22+ years, I remember so many blessings that have come to me through Galilee. I distinctly remember the first Sunday Phillip and I attended (although I don’t remember the date!). It was a beautiful sunny day and when I walked into the sanctuary I knew that I was “home”. There was a guest pastor preaching about children and while Phillip and I have no children, I was so happy to see children in the service being welcomed and cherished. 

Some people comment to me that I have welcomed them to Galilee and they appreciated it. One of the reasons that I love my job is that I GET to meet new people and welcome them to the church home that I love. That first Sunday at Galilee no one spoke to me, so I try to make it a point to speak to new people and hopefully they will love Galilee like I do.

Most of you have probably heard me say that “I love my job and that there has never been a day I dreaded to come to work. I have dreaded getting up at times, but I never dreaded coming to work.” That is true and I know how blessed I am to be able to say that. I have worked with AMAZING co-workers and pastors, whom I love dearly, as well as countless volunteers who made my life and job so easy! 

One never knows who is on the other end of the phone when you answer it – or what “opportunity” they may be facing – but I believe God put me here to be a calming spirit and to show His love through it all. That has been my goal and I know I failed at it at times, but thankfully God was there all the time. 

I was so overwhelmed on Saturday and Sunday. Phillip and I never thought so many people would take time out of their busy week to come to the dinner and church. Everything was beautiful and all the kind words really touched us. I have not had the opportunity to even begin to say thank you but please know that we are thankful for each and everyone of you. I truly believe that God brought us to Galilee and I am forever grateful that He guided us to a wonderful church that enriched our lives in so many ways. May God bless each of you and as I continue to pray for you and Galilee, I would ask you to keep us and Galilee in your prayers. I am excited to see what God has planned for Galilee and its ministries.
