If there is inclement weather, class is canceled according to what Loudoun County public schools do. We take a 2-3 week holiday break around Christmas time.

Bernie and Lydia Vitale lead line dance lessons Friday nights in the gym starting at 6:45 p.m. The first 15 minutes is a warmup and review. People can show up a bit earlier if they need extra help, Lydia suggests they come at 6:30 the first time.

Beginners class ends at 8:00 and the group switches to intermediate class. All are welcome to stay and watch and try it out too.

The class is ongoing (drop-ins welcome) and there are all levels of experience. New kinds of line dances are added every so often and keep building on what everyone knows, so it is a work in progress. Lydia calls all the steps out and she and Bernie mix in some very easy line dances as needed when newcomers show up. Everyone is very supportive.

Bernie and Lydia lead line dancing at the City of Fairfax’s 2023 National Dance Day event.

"One of our students said his doctor asked how his balance had improved so much and he reported to him he had taken up line dancing. The doctor recommended he keep it up. Dancing keeps you young! It helps your memory, helps your balance, helps your endurance and your happiness. It is hard to worry when you are focusing on the steps for a line dance. It is a great social activity, too."
