Christmas must be coming, because Galilee’s Mission Tree has popped up in our lobby! Won’t you use this opportunity to spread holiday cheer to kids in need?

Every year we decorate the evergreen tree in our lobby with ornaments that suggest donations for one of several missions. This year there are three wonderful causes to support:

• Kingsway Prison and Family Outreach – We’ve partnered with this Harrisonburg ministry for years. Kingsway’s elves contact mothers and fathers who are incarcerated by the state of Virginia and make sure their kids receive a gift and the message of hope at Christmas. If you choose a Kingsway ornament, please purchase the gift described on the envelope and place your unwrapped present under the tree by December 1.

• The New Life (Nueva Vida) Church – This Spanish-speaking congregation meets at Galilee and supports migrant families. Pastor Josh Delgado has collected toy requests from among these families. If you choose a New Life ornament, please purchase your gift and return it to the poinsettia-patterned box in the lobby by December 8.

• Backpack Buddies – Your generous donation to Backpack Buddies will help us feed food-insecure kids throughout the year. Choose an ornament that represents the level of giving you’re comfortable with and donate online or with a check at the office or in the offering plate on Sunday morning.
