In the United Methodist denomination, pastors serve their congregations for a limited time only. Sooner or later, change must happen. Galilee is being hit with a double dose of change. Both our serving pastors, Senior Pastor Jason Duley and Associate Pastor Steve Hall, are leaving. Jason has been called to serve beginning in June at Braddock Street United Methodist Church in Winchester and Steve is retiring from his pastoral duties at the Chapel (although he will stay on as a member).

 

This is sad for us—Jason and his wife Jennifer have been at Galilee for ten years and Steve and Brenda have served here for four.  We’ll take our time in saying goodbye to them in the right way.

 

In the meantime, it is with excitement that we announce that Galilee’s new Senior Pastor will be Mike Plasters, currently of St Matthews UMC in Annandale. Mike will be joined on the clergy team by Steven Carr, who will be a full time associate pastor serving Galilee and the Chapel.

 

Both pastors recorded videos which were played at the end of our 4/21 worship service, so we’ll let them introduce themselves by reproducing the videos here.
