The Prayer Shawls made by Galilee’s caring knitters and crocheters have helped make our Livestream Worship more colorful. You’ll have seen the shawls draped over our pews, where in-person worshipers would normally sit. This Sunday, January 10, knitter Carmen Smith and crocheter Emilie Beckelhimer counted 52 shawls and sorted them by size for distribution in our community. Larger ones will go to a local rehab facility, while smaller ones will be sent to a shelter for women and families for use in comforting children.
We’ll still have shawls on hand if you would like one, and new ones are always being made…and prayed over.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a group of caring knitters and crocheters who make prayer shawls and other worthy projects. These shawls are prayed over and distributed to individuals who are ill or need support. If you know of someone who could use a comforting prayer shawl, please talk to one of our pastors or call the church office.
This ministry is also a great way to learn how to knit or crochet while enjoying wonderful fellowship. The group’s meetings are on hold during this pandemic.
