On Sunday July 2, Pastor Jason preached about how David danced before the Ark of the Lord: spontaneously, unrestrainedly, and joyfully. The dance reveals David’s intimate connection to the holiness of God.

“And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment. So David and all the people of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouts of joy and the blowing of rams’ horns.” – 2 Samual 6:14-15

Pastor Jason asked, “What’s our dance, Galilee?” Where is our joyous connection to God? What moves can we make that reveal God’s influence in our lives?

The answer is often found in what we do for our neighbor. In a world that can seem frightened, uptight and standoff-ish, we can “bust a move” by doing a dance of random kindness.

The Random Act of Kindness billboard is up in the original wing of our church.

Just as David was a God-centered man, we show we are a God-centered people when we act in ways that are unselfconsciously joyous and generous. All we need do is do for others.

To that end, Felicia Johnson, Galilee’s Director of Serve Ministries, has created the Random Act of Kindness billboard which will be up in the original wing of our church throughout the summer. You’ll find it near the Youth Center and Backpack Buddies pantry. We invite you to take a slip from any envelope on the board (there are envelopes for adults and for kids) and follow the simple, random instruction that you receive.

Why? No reason. Just because God loves us—and that makes us want to dance.

If you take a slip, you might find instructions like:

• Buy groceries for a family in need
• Give someone a Starbucks card
• (For kids) Bring snacks to the local fire station
• (For kids) Perform a play in front of your family
