Last Saturday, the Chapel worked with friends in the Catholic and Jewish faith communities at Lansdowne Woods to pack 14,000 emergency meals for Rise Against Hunger.

If you’ve joined Galilee or the Chapel for Rise Against Hunger events in the past, you’ll recognize the hairnets. This organization does a terrific job dividing ordinary volunteers into extraordinary packers, weighers, and runners to assemble thousands of nutritious meals in a short time. These meals are then sent into regions disturbed by famines, war, or supply shortages to make a difference at crucial times. Rise Against Hunger also funds programs to expand access to good nutrition in nonemergency situations.

We send our thanks to all the volunteers who helped. It was great to come together as representatives of different faiths, too. That means a lot in an America facing acrimony and division.
