The rummage sale brought people together, too. Over 30 volunteers helped receive and organize goods from across the community. People chipped in with baked goods and coffee runs and good cheer. And before our doors even opened, there was a long line of shoppers waiting to get in.

One particularly heartwarming aspect to the rummage sale was the contribution from Tom Dula and his Help 4 Our Children team. This local 501(c)3 non-profit contacted parent liaisons and counselors at nearby schools to identify families who could use some extra support. H4OC then supplied vouchers for those families to come and shop the sale. 62 families from at least 22 different LCPS schools came and bought needed goods. This was a win for everyone involved.

Tom told us, “Before this event, I was not sure Help 4 Our Children was a viable charity or if it was time to close our doors. However, the sincere appreciation expressed by 62 families has made me think that it may yet again serve a purpose for families of Loudoun County after Covid.”

We thank Tom, those families, all our shoppers and all our volunteers (including the amazing Jen Shah) and everyone who donated items to the sale. It took a little believing to think we could do this after two years. It paid off, big time!
