Event: Helping Seniors and Families Navigate Aging
Presented by the Loudoun Area Agency on Aging on Thursday, May 14 at 4pm
The Loudoun County Area Agency on Aging is coming to Galilee on Thursday, May 14. This agency offers many services. Case managers work with seniors and their families to provide education, support, and referrals on issues regarding aging. They host support groups for people with memory loss and their caregivers, facilitate memory screenings, and provide personalized dementia education.
This presentation will provide an overview of how case managers help seniors and their families navigate aging and assist in improving their quality of life. The presentation will last about an hour, with time for questions.

Stephen Ministry has been active at Galilee UMC since 2009. Stephen ministers are members of our congregation who have been trained to provide high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care to people experiencing any of life’s difficulties.
Stephen Ministry is one way that we at Galilee carry out Christ’s commandment to “Love one another as I have loved you” in a powerful and practical way. Our goal is to listen, love, and accept without judgment, to support, pray for, and walk alongside people who are hurting.
We believe that we are care givers, God is the Cure Giver.

In 2023, Stephen Ministry concluded its most recent training class for those interested in becoming a Stephen Minister. Four new ministers were commissioned at our worship service on June 25. We’ll have future training sessions, too, so if service in this area resonates with you, please consider becoming a Stephen minister yourself by contacting one of our Stephen Ministry leaders : Tammy Mitchell at (703) 608-7338 or Ann Kuo at (703) 298-1362.
