Be a Game Changer
In sports, a “game changer” is someone or some thing that drastically changes the outcome of the contest. One person or team was losing, but then BAM! a game changer comes along and nothing is the same.
Having a personal relationship with Jesus is the biggest game changer for your life. Jesus changes everything – for the better – each and every day! When Christ is on your team, YOU can be a game changer, too. God gives us new priorities and new strength every day to live with excellent character through good times and bad, through wins and losses on and off the field.
Galilee’s sports and service Vacation Bible School will teach kids how to be game changers this summer. Fun sports, crafts, worship, and meaningful service opportunities will have kids learning that “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
Be a SRVant
Galilee SummerServe is designed for middle school students to share God’s love through volunteer service in the local community.
We’ll start each day with a devotional and discussion centering on how we can make a difference in the world. Students will engage in projects at Galilee and travel to off-site locations to work with community partners.
Be a Hope Harvester
At July’s sleepover camp, Youth Summer Venture, Galilee’s middle and high schoolers will work with the Society of St. Andrew on a Harvest of Hope hunger project. Our group will glean food at a farm—food that would otherwise go to waste. We’ll then work with a food agency to distribute the food.
This is a sleepover camp, so we’ll stay in cabins at Occohannock on the Bay Camp & Retreat Center on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, where we will join other youth groups to relax, socialize, and enjoy the fun of summer camp (including gagaball, volleyball, basketball, bocce, 9 square, the stump game, oversized chess, Connect Four, and 4 square). We’ll do good, we’ll have amazing fun, and we’ll take in the beauty of the bay as we worship together each evening.
