We are saddened to report that Chapel member Thelma Debes has passed away.

THELMA LORELL DEBES, 100, of Lansdowne, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026.

Thelma lived a full life, passing away at age 100 on the 25th of March 2026 in Leesburg, VA. She was born in Newburg, Illinois and came to live in Lansdowne, VA. Her parents were Elmer H.
Rhodes and Ada G. Landess. She is survived by her two children, Valorie Fruend and Marcia Mendiguren, and her granddaughter Samantha Mendiguren. She was proceeded in death by her late husband, Edward Peter Debes.

Thelma loved to ride bikes and to sing and dance. She spent much of her life surrounded by friends who enjoyed performing alongside her in musicals.
