School starts this week, so on Sunday, the Galilee Youth grabbed the opportunity for one final summer adventure before they hit the books. They headed to Berryville and the Johnson Williams Apartments for Seniors, where they helped host an ice cream social with games, in partnership with a group called Teens Opposing Poverty (TOP).

The purpose of the event was just to spend time with one another, get the generations together, learn a few new games, and share a bit of life. It was fun, and the ice cream was a welcome treat.

Still, when you share a bit of life, sometimes real life intrudes. One of the residents left the party to take a phone call, only to come back with news that his daughter had passed away. It was a sad and moving moment to witness. Pastor Steven was able to lead the group in prayer to lift up this gentleman and his family while still in shock from the news.  It was amazing to see how God puts you where you need to be, when you need to be there. 

We look forward to getting back to Berryville soon and pray that God blesses our youth and their new friends at Johnson Williams Apartments.
