At Galilee, we want to equip and encourage youth to become the extraordinary people God created them to be. Youth Ministry offers a place where students in grades 6-12 come together to learn about God and His love for them.
We’re on summer hiatus in terms of Youth Group and Grow Hour, but our youth are still staying in contact over social media and doing “Work for a Cause.”
Look for an online posts on Remind and Instagram. If you have questions about Youth Group or want to talk or offer prayer requests, email Christian or message him on the Remind app. Details below.
Work for Cause
This spring, our youth were challenged to read a chapter a day from the Book of Acts. Acts chronicles the first steps of the church. As the youth read, they found themselves challenged to “act” during our current crisis. They found inspiration in Scripture, which speaks of serving “the least of these,” the sick, orphans, widows, and homeless (Matthew 25:31-46, 19:21, 25:35; Acts 19:36, 10:4, 24:17).
Youth Group met on Zoom on several occasions to brainstorm what they can do, how they can act. They chose to raise money for three good causes by doing additional chores such as cleaning their house, mowing the lawn, or making family meals to raise money. They will also invite friends and family members to join them in the initiative.
Jesus told his disciples how to “act” when he shared the Great Commission—a blueprint for action on the local, regional, and global level. Our youth have modeled aspects of the Great Commision by picking three great causes that help people with both their physical and spirtual needs: a local nonprofit, the Good Shepherd Alliance; a national nonprofit, the Salvation Army USA; and an international nonprofit, Compassion International.
Our youth have four months, until the end of August, to raise as much money as they can. Up to $5,000 will be matched. Join us by praying for our youth and encouraging them to continue to bring God’s service and message of hope to our world.

We are sad to share that Skycroft’s Crossings camp for youth this June will be canceled. As a result, any payments will be refunded. Youth retreats play a vital role in the lives of our youth and Family Ministries is working to hold a youth retreat at Galilee that will take place in the future. This is dependent on the Governor’s orders. Our hope is to provide an alternative opportunity for our youth to experience Christ-centered worship, solid Gospel teaching, exciting recreation, adventure, outreach opportunities, fun, and more as they grow in Christ.
