Vacation Bible School

Camp Firelight VBS is based on Psalm 56:3: “Whenever I’m afraid, I put my trust in you,” and invites kids to  trust in God in all situations. VBS campers will enjoy Bible-themed fun at this adventurous evening summer camp. Games, activities, music, and stories will show how trusting God leads the way to peace, confidence, and resilience and brings joy!

  • Kick off with a special Family Night (August 3rd: 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm)
  • VBS runs August 4-6, 5:30-8pm
  • Preschool thru 5th grade
  • Cost: $25 per child (families with up to four siblings living at the same residence pay $50).

Galilee SummerServe

Be a SRVant

At Galilee SummerServe, middle school students share God’s love through volunteer service in the community.

Each day of SummerServe 2025 combines devotion time with hands on action to make a difference in our neighborhoods. Students will engage in projects at Galilee and the off-site locations of community partners.

  • July 7-11 with varying start times
  • 9am Mon, Thurs, Fri; 8:30am Tues; 8am Weds
  • Each day’s activities end at approximately noon
  • Cost: $70 per student
  • Open to rising 6th to rising 8th graders

Summer Venture

Summer Venture

Summer Venture for rising 8th through current HS seniors is Tuesday, July 15 through Sunday, July 20.

We are partnering with Redwood UMC in Rocky Mount, VA to serve in the surrounding Franklin County Community. Franklin County is a rural county in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Smith Mountain Lake. We will stay at the Redwood UMC Outreach Center, work with local community partners, and be treated to a Smith Mountain Lake outing.

Registration is open for 12 students. Total fee to attend is $275 with a $100 non-refundable deposit due at registration.
